Estranged Husband Stabs, Kills Pastor

An estranged husband in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State has landed in police net for allegedly stabbing and killing a pastor, Mr. Sina Olaribigbe.

It was gathered that the wife of the jealous estranged husband is a member of the murdered pastor’s church, where she serves as an interpreter

Confirming the incident, CSP Yemisi Opalola, Police Public Relations Officer for the Osun State command, said the jealous husband suspected the late pastor to be having an affair with his wife who is not living with him.

CSP Opalola, who confirmed the incident in Oshgbo on Thursday, January 2, 2025, in Osogbo, explained that the husband met the pastor in his wife’s house and allegedly stabbed him over suspicion that he (pastor) was having an affair with his wife.

The police spokesperson said that the couple have not been living together even though they are not legally separated, adding that the pastor was the person intervening and trying to resolve their differences.

In the words of Opalola; “The pastor had been intervening in their quarrels, and on this occasion, he was at the wife’s house when the estranged husband arrived.

“The husband probably believed the pastor was having an affair with his wife. The husband was reported to have acted out of rage and stabbed the pastor multiple times, thereby killing him instantly,” the police said.

Opalola said that the suspect is presently in police custody while the remains of the pastor has been deposited at the morgue.
