Ewuga Arrested For Impersonating Nigerian Army General, Fraud

BY AHMED TUKUR, LAFIA – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State Command has arrested one Amos John Ewuga over alleged impersonation as army Major General, fraud and job racketeering.

A dark tinted Army colour Highlander Jeep with registration number RBC 398 JM was recovered from him.

A statement by the Command’s spokesman, Sirajo Idris said that the 46 years old suspect was arrested after a tip off from members of the public who lodged complaints with the Command.

According to Idris; “Following series of complaints, the Corps mounted surveillance and arrested him along Akwanga-Keffi-Abuja road.

“Ewuga, who hailed from Nasarawa Eggon Local Government of Nasarawa State has been impersonating as a Major General of the Nigerian Army”.

The NSCDC further said that the suspect extorted money running into millions of naira from innocent job seekers with the promise to provide jobs opportunities for them in the Nigerian Army, Air Force, Navy and other paramilitary agencies.

The statement added that Ewuga also defrauded hundreds of people within and outside Nasarawa State of their cash and other belongings in the pretence of being a Nigerian Army personnel.

The NSCDC, Nasarawa State Command said Ewuga will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
