Pursuant to the provision of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act, Prince Isaac Fayose has petitioned the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), demanding the release of the asset declaration of Mr. Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
In the petition dated July 21, 2025, Fayose emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in public office and assured of his willingness to pay any required processing fees.
The petition which was also shared publicly via his social media, indicated that Fayose also demanded for the information to be released within seven days of receipt of his request, as stipulated by law.
The petition read in part; “I, Isaac Fayose of the above contact address, hereby write and apply pursuant to the provision of the Freedom of Information Act 2011 as Amended to formally request for the release of a copy of the Assets Declaration Form submitted by Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike CON who currently occupies the public office as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja which is in your custody.
“The form should be available under Section 1 of the FOI Act and referenced Section 4(a) of the Act which mandates timely disclosure of requested information,” it stated.
Expectedly, the petition has generated public interest on social media, with many Nigerians commenting on the potential implications of such disclosures on public trust and governance.
However, the Code of Conduct Bureau is yet to respond to the request.
