According to the Deputy Director of Media, Biodun Oyebanji Campaign Organisation, Wole Olujobi, the defectors said they were switching party loyalty given the giant strides and development policies of the APC-led administration in the State.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Aladeyelu said their decision to embrace the APC came after x-raying all the candidates in the race and reaching the conclusion that the ruling party’s flag bearer is the most qualified to take Ekiti to a higher pedestal going forward.

He said after tasting both sides of party politics, the APC and its candidate, Biodun Oyebanji, represents the greatest hope for actualising the dreams of Ekiti State founding founders.

However, in a sharp reaction to the development, the PDP dismissed the defection claims, insisting those who claimed to have joined the APC were never cards carrying members of the umbrella party in the first instance.

The PDP Publicity Secretary, Raphael Adeyanju said in a statement that apart from Aladeyelu who had long exited the PDP before now, others were not known to the party.

He therefore challenged the APC to produce the defectors’ PDP membership cards to confirmed they were actually bonafide party members.
