Female Prison Officer Who Had S3x With Prison Inmate Jailed

Following her involvement in a scandalous relationship with an inmate that went viral online, Linda De Sousa Abreu, a former prison officer at HMP Wandsworth in the United Kingdom, has bagged 15 months jail term.

The 30-year-old Linda De Sousa Abreu was identified by senior prison officials after an explicit footage of her engaging in s*xual activities with an inmate surfaced on social media, causing widespread outrage.

Linda De Sousa Abreu’s misconduct did not end with the leaked video clip as another footage captured on her body-worn camera confirmed another inappropriate encounter with the same prisoner.

Abreu, who admitted to misconduct in public office, was arrested at Heathrow Airport while attempting to board a flight to Madrid with her father.

The records of the court revealed that her actions took place between June 26 and June 28, 2024.

While sentencing her, Judge Martin Edmunds KC noted that the viral video was part of a pattern of repeated behaviour, emphasizing the gravity of her misconduct.

However, in a response to the incident, the spokesperson for the Prison Service reaffirmed their commitment to rooting out corruption.
According to the spokesperson; “While the overwhelming majority of Prison Service staff are hardworking and honest, we are catching more of the small minority who break the rules by bolstering our Counter Corruption Unit and strengthening our vetting processes.

“As today’s sentencing demonstrates, where officers fall below our high standards, we won’t hesitate to take robust action”.
