FG Kicks-Off Wage Award Arrears Payment To Workers

In keeping with its pledge of N35,000 wage award arrears payment, the Federal Government has flagged-off the exercise aimed at putting smiles on the faces of federal civil servants.

According to the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF), many workers have already confirmed receiving the payment in their respective bank accounts.

A statement issued signed by the OAGF’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Bawa Mokwa, in Abuja further assured that others yet to receive their payments will do so soonest

The statement also explained that never at any time did the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), Mr Babatunde Ogunjimi say the N35,000 wage award was excluded from 2025 Budget as reported by certain online media.

Maintaining that the AGF did not brief the press on the wage award issue, the statement assured the outstanding arrears would be paid as promised by the government.

It said by the planned schedule, the arrears payments would be done in instalments of N35,000 over five months.
