BY COBHAM NSA – The Federal Government is set to put smiles on the faces of workers with its planned payment of the outstanding five months N35,000 wage award arrears commencing April 2025 ending.
A statement issued in Abuja by the Accountant General of the Federation Office (OAGF) said the Federal Government had earlier paid five months wage award to its employees in instalments.
According to the statement signed by Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press and Public Relations, OAGF, the outstanding arrears would be paid in instalments of N35,000 per month for five months.
He said the first instalment of the outstanding wage award arrears would be paid after the April 2025 salary.
Offering detailed explanation on the arrangement, the statement said; “The wage award arrears would not be paid with the April 2025 salary; it will come immediately after the salary is paid”.
The OAGF however assured that the government is committed to fully implement all policies and agreements regarding workers’ remuneration and welfare to enhance productivity and efficient service delivery.
