BY COBHAM NSA – The Federal Ministry of Finance says Nigeria’s economic transformation will be accelerated through strong collaborative strategy that revolves around the government and specialized expertise of professional institutions.
Additionally, the Ministry said strategic partnerships and team work are critical to building a resilient, competitive and sustainable economy, while acknowledging that true national progress relies on combining expert skills, fresh ideas, and strong institutions for a strong and stable market.
Permanent Secretary for Special Duties, Mr. Mohammed Sanusi Danjuma, who made the remarks when the leadership of Nigerian Institute of Architects International Integrated Research for Development Conference Programmes (NIA IINFRADCO) visited the Ministry in Abuja, said certified groups are vital for creating smart policies, growing human talent, and building better public spaces.
He said long-term public-private alliances remain the bedrock for the country’s future financial stability, adding that merging state policy with institutional innovation is now a national priority.
According to him, by leveraging the technical capacity of professional bodies, the government plans to aggressively revamp policy formulation, human capital development, critical infrastructure delivery and, foster innovation capable of giving lasting benefits to Nigerians.
Danjuma described NIA IINFRADCO as a forward-looking institution whose focus on research, capacity development and professional excellence aligns with the Federal Government’s agenda to diversify the economy, enhance productivity and promote inclusive growth.
While assuring that the Ministry of Finance would continue to support meaningful engagement with institutions whose programmes provide practical solutions to Nigeria’s development priorities, the Permanent Secretary charged the Institute to sustain its commitment to innovation and professional development.
He also emphasized on deepening collaboration with government and other stakeholders to unlock new opportunities for investment, enterprise development, job creation and sustainable infrastructure.
Danjuma emphasised that strategic partnerships remain indispensable in building a competitive economy that is better positioned to meet the aspirations of both present and future generations.
In his remarks, Chairman of NIA IINFRADCO, Architect M. B. Bello, said the Institute is committed to advancing professional excellence through research, capacity development, executive education, consultancy and innovation in support of sustainable national development.
He said the Institute aims to bridge the academic-practice gap and equip built environment professionals for evolving industry demands, stressing that collaboration among government, private sectors, academia, and development partners is essential for sustainable infrastructure and economic growth.
Arc Bello, who explained that the institute aims to become a hub of excellence in architecture, using training, research, and policy support to build up the sector, said working closely with the federal government and partners will boost innovation and contribute significantly to Nigeria’s long-term economic development.
