Fire Engulfs Abuja Popular Next Cash And Carry Mall
One of the popular shopping malls in Abuja, known as Next Cash & Carry, located in the Jahi District of Abuja, the nation’s capital, on Sunday got engulfed with a massive fire incident.
The cause of the fire was however unknown at the time of this report.
Our correspondent, who visited the area to assess the situation, reports that the fire was raging as no one could go close, just as Fire Fighters either from the Federal Fire Service or the FCT Fire Fighters were yet to arrive at the scene.
Most Christmas shoppers had thronged the one-stop shopping Mall on Friday and Saturday for their shopping.
As the fire was raging on, some people were seen looting the mall, even as even many people have already gone on social media pages to lament the incident recalling an event in the recent past where another popular supermarket in the nation’s capital, Ebeano, also went on flames.
According to one Twitter user; “The fire service truck that used to be stationed at Next Cash and carry went where? All the fire hydrants I see don’t function? cos WTF? I have plenty of questions before Shoprite kills us with bills.“
In his comments, another Twitter user, who made reference to the Ebeano fire incident, said, “Ebeano supermarket burnt down. Next cash and carry Abuja is presently on fire. Should we call this a mere coincidence?“
