Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has described the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu as a woman whose commitment to humanity, compassion and service has continued to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Nigerians.
Governor Alia, who gave the description of the First Lady while congratulating her on the occasion of her 66th birthday, noted that the vision and dedication she has brought to the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), through which various interventions have been extended to women, youths, widows, orphans, senior citizens and other vulnerable members of society.
Alia noted that the wife of the President’s focus on economic empowerment, particularly support for petty traders and small-scale entrepreneurs, has provided opportunities for many Nigerians to strengthen their livelihoods and improve the welfare of their families.
A statement by Sir Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, stated that Alia acknowledged Senator Remi Tinubu’s interventions in healthcare and education, including medical outreaches, assistance to communities and households affected by violence, support for elderly citizens, maternal health advocacy, promotion of the HPV vaccine, and initiatives aimed at improving menstrual hygiene among schoolgirls.
Governor further said; “We appreciate your humanitarian interventions, particularly your assistance to our communities affected by armed herdsmen attacks and other difficult circumstances.
“Your efforts to keep girls in school, expand opportunities for young people and promote skills acquisition demonstrate a sustained interest in investing in the human capital of the country.
“Your commitment to supporting vulnerable Nigerians and advancing opportunities for women, youths and children also remains a valuable contribution to the development of the country”.
While praying that God should continue to guide and bless the First Lady, Governor Alia wishes her many more years of good health, wisdom, strength and fulfilment in service to the nation.
