The five persons that were on Monday, May 31, 2021 ambushed and killed in Goska village, Kaninkon Chiefdom in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna state were on Tuesday given mass burial by the community.

The five victims that were slaughtered by suspected Fulani herdsmen, were returning from their farms at about 4:30pm on Monday, May 31, 2021.

A statement by the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), states that other villagers described the assailants as Fulani herdsmen.

This is as SOKAPU noted that in the past one week, Godogodo town and Golkofa village in Godogodo Chiefdom of Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State have also witnessed similar cruelty with no apparent provocation.

SOKAPU said that this followed sequence of other killings and raids over Southern Kaduna communities in the past few weeks.

The Union therefore demanded that those behind the heinous crimes which bears all the signs of genocide be brought to justice.
