Unabated killings on The Plateau

BY CHAMBERLAIN ODEY, JOS – Two former governors of Plateau State, Sir Fidelis Tapgun and Senator Jonah David Jang have condemned in strong terms the attacks and killings in various communities of the State.

In a statement in Jos, Sir Tapgun described the killings and the entire development as “unacceptable”, especially against the background that the lives of innocent citizens were wasted, and that a considerable level of restoration of peace and harmonious co-existence had been restored in the state.
He said “I commiserate with the government and people of Plateau state, especially the families of those who lost their lives.”

On his part, Senator Jang underscored the killings as part of a grand scheme by external aggressors to wreck the plateau heritage.

Jang called on Governor Simon Lalong to rise to the occasion, stand with and defend the people at this critical moment by speaking truth to the powers that be, and insist on safeguarding the plateau heritage.
