Future Assured trains 500 youths in Kano
Future Assured, the pet project of Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari has again kept its promise of training youths in various skills acquisition programmes
Fulfilling her promise to the people of Kano during the graduation of 2200 women to expose women and youths to productive skills and trades, the Project has graduated a second batch of beneficiaries that were trained in paint making, leather works, barbing, rabbitry and catfish farming.
The training, which was conducted for male youth beneficiaries, is consistent with the target of Mrs. Buhari’s programme, Future Assured, which are women, youth and children.
A statement by Suleiman Haruna, Director of Information to Wife of the President said Mrs Buhari charged the beneficiaries to use the skills they have acquired in building sustainable businesses to pull themselves out of poverty and help other youths.
According to the statement, Mrs Buhari’s message at the opening ceremony was delivered by the Coordinator of the Future Assured Programme in Kano state, Mrs Ramatu Mukhtar Rabiu.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the President’s wife for giving them the opportunity to chart an economic course for their lives by providing them with useful and sustainable skills.
A breakdown of the skills trained indicate that barbing, rabbitry and catfish farming received 100 beneficiaries each, leatherworks received 50, while paint-making received the highest beneficiaries with 150.
The weeklong training, which commenced Monday, October 31, 2017 was concluded Friday, November 3, 2017.
