Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has declared that God will not forgive members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) if they fail to take advantage of the woeful failure of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government and take over power in 2023 to salvage the country.
Wike, who stated this when visited his Bauchi State counterpart, Governor Bala Mohammed specifically said that if the PDP makes the mistake of not listening to Nigerians at this trying period, it will be difficult for God to forgive it, stressing that this is an opportunity to save Nigeria.
According to Wike; “We are in problem now and only the PDP will lead Nigeria out. So we must take that responsibility seriously.
“The APC and President Muhammadu Buhari have failed Nigeria and Nigerians to the point where even the diehard supporters have backed out and are regretting bringing the administration to power.
“I can assure you that the PDP will put its house in order to be able to face the challenges ahead because it is the only political party that has remained intact since its formation in 1998 with a demonstration of strong will to rule the country,” he said.
He said that his visit to Governor Mohammed was part of the efforts to make the PDP a more united party, adding that Bala Mohammed is a special friend he holds in high esteem.
Wike said that he had resolved with Mohammed to make Nigeria better, adding that their meeting will continue until the aim was achieved just as he assured that whatever it is, the details would be made public soon.
Commenting of Senator Mohammed’s presidential aspiration, Wike said that the Bauchi Governor has all the experiences needed, from the civil service down to political office, from a Director in the ministry, a Senator, a Minister and now a Governor, adding that the credentials qualify him.
