The Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has been commended for the ongoing construction of the 37km road that passes through Igumale/Apa/Agila in the Benue South Senatorial district.
This was contained in a letter dated March 19, 2025 by an elder statesman, Chief Mike Okibe Onoja, a retired Federal Permanent Secretary, who conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to Governor Alia for the project, which he described as a “game changer” for the people of Benue State.
Onoja said; “I am writing to declare my heartfelt gratitude and that of my community for the current construction of the 37 kilometres road through Igumale/Apa/Agila.
“This project is a game changer for our people, and we are thankful for your vision and commitment to our advancement,” he said.
While applauding Governor Alia’ efforts to build up infrastructure in the state, Onoja further praised his leadership style, which he noted has produced hope and restoration to the state.
Onoja said that the construction of the road will expedite transportation, advance commercial enterprises, set up jobs, and enhance the comprehensive quality of way of life for the community.
According to Onoja; “Your administration’s efforts to improve infrastructure in Benue State have not gone unnoticed. The construction of this road will not merely ease transportation but also boost economic enterprises, create jobs, and increase the overall condition of life for our people”.
The Agama of Agila, Akanaba K’Idoma also expressed hope that the road project will be completed to the loftiest standards, given Governor Alia’s commitment to quality and excellence.
“We appreciate your dedication to serving the people of Benue State and your responsibility to leave behind an indelible legacy.
“Your leadership has brought hope and renewal to our state, and we are confident that this project will be completed to the highest standards,” Onoja said.
He appealed that the access road to his house, which is 482 meters from the main road, be included in the project, saying; “I wish to use this opportunity to plead and request you kindly include the access road to my house which is 482 meters from the main road”.
