Governor Hyacinth Alia on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 in Ihugh, Vandeikya Local Government Area, extolled the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s commitment to women and youth in Benue State.

Alia also described Senator Tinubu as a mother and friend of the state whose interventions, particularly through the Renewed Hope Initiative, have continued to support women, youths, children, and vulnerable groups.

Governor Alia, who stated these at Ihugh during the commissioning and handing over ceremony of the Community ICT centre by Sen. Tinubu, said the centre will enhance digital literacy, empower youths with employable skills, bridge the digital divide, encourage innovation and entrepreneurship, and prepare the people to thrive in the rapidly evolving digital economy.

The Governor named the Community ICT after Mama Lucy Aluor.

The centre was an initiative of RHI in partnership with The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Benue State Government.

Governor Alia said the Centre represented the administration’s commitment to ICT development and rural transformation.

He said the ICT centre would open up previously inaccessible ICT areas, improve network connectivity, create employment opportunities, and boost economic activities in the communities.

Alia appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting state governments and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prudent management of resources and the delivery of more impactful projects.
