Gov Alia Griefs Over Death Of Senator Akaagerger
Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia has expressed sadness over the sudden passing of Senator Joseph Iorshagher Akaagerger. Senator Akaagerger died last Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the age of 69 years.
Alia described the retired Lieutenant Colonel Akaagerger, who served as a military Administrator of Katsina State, as a patriotic Nigerian, and as one who gave the nation and Benue State his very best during his time.
The Governor also said that the late Akaagerger as a lawmaker and Senator representing Benue North-East Senatorial District ( Zone A), proved his quality in politics, business, community service and philanthropy.
While expressing regret over Akaagerger’s demise, Governor Alia said the State will miss his contributions, particularly his counsel and engagements as an elder statesman and prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders Forum in the state all of which were geared towards the growth and development of the State.
A statement by Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary to the Benue State Governor, stated that Father Alia prayed God to console his immediate family, his associates and the entire people of Benue State and Nigeria as a whole, and urged them to take comfort in the legacies he left behind and build on it to honour his memory.
Alia equally prayed God to grant the Late Senator eternal rest.
