The Commissioner, who noted that members “have been carefully selected to serve in this board because of your wealth of experience and integrity”, reminded them of how the Corporation has faired in recent past and the need for it to operate as a limited liability company

According to him; “After this inauguration, I expect our services to improve so that we can attain higher goals” adding; “We are here collectively to make sure that Cross Riverians have water in their homes. Overtime, the only government agency that is known by all and sundry is Water Board.

“Whether, there is money in the treasury or not, nobody cares to know, but if there is no water, the entire population will know about it immediately, if we work together I am sure we shall succeed and our joy should be that we satisfy our people”.

Obol Etta told the Board members that Governor Ayade’s passion is to ensure the State’s water problem is adequately addressed as they work collectively to provide potable water for people.

In his remarks, Chairman of the Board, Dr Godwin O. Igle lauded Governor Ayade for the opportunity to serve as Board members, adding; “We are aware of our duties and role and we will ensure that water board functions effectively.

“We shall provide good advice to our Managing Director that will move this place forward and the Board will also explore opportunities of attracting international grants for funding and financing of the Agency.

“We shall also ensure monthly Board meetings to give approvals to projects and expenditure to the managing director to ensure that the expenditure profile is consistent with approvals as well as training and retraining of staff”, he added

Also speaking at the occasion, Managing Director of Water Board Limited, Chief Victor Effiom Ekpo, praised the governor for appointing men and women of proven integrity into the board.
