Gov el-Rufai waves to jubilant crowd

BY AMOS TAUNA, KADUNA – Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasiru el-Rufai, his Deputy, Architect Barnabas Bala Bantex and Aides on Tuesday took to Street dancing in celebration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s safe return from his London medical vacation.

All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters and President Muhammadu Buhari’s loyalists flagged off the dancing spree from the Murtala Square at about 10:45am. The train later moved in convoy to Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House, where they were received by the Governor and his team.     

Organizer of the event, who is also the Special Assistant to Governor el-Rufai on Political Matters, Malam Uba Sani, said the mammoth crowd was in jubilation mood thanking God for Buhari’s speedy recovery and safe return home.

Addressing the crowd, Governor el-Rufai said President Buhari is a father to all Nigerians and as his children, everyone is happy over the President’s safe return, noting that the Buhari led administration was committed to the ‘Change’  ideology which will make Nigeria a dream land for all and sundry.

A Chieftain of APC in the state, Abdullahi Umar said it was indeed celebration time for Nigerians because contrary to the expectations of some people who did not wish the President well, he survived the ailment and has now recovered fully.

“We are in joyful mood today because our Baba is back and the nation will move forward now.

“We are also celebrating our Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, who is taking Kaduna state to a new level.

“I am in the APC Akida team but today I am out to celebrate God’s mercy and good governance in Nigeria and Kaduna state,” he said.

The rally later moved from Sir Kashim Ibrahim House through some major streets in the Kaduna metropolis back to Murtala Square.

Commercial and government activities temporary came to a halt as some civil servants and business owners closing their premises to join the celebration.

The dancing crowd passed along major streets that included Buhari way and Independence way where Mallam Nasir El Rufai was spotted ‘digging it’ out in style with some of his aides.
