Oyo State Governor, Mr Seyi Makinde has urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the opposition coalition, to return to the Party, stressing that their alliance is akin to people who abandoned a house due to internal challenges.
This was as he called on members of the PDP to remain steadfast and committed to the shared vision of progress, unity and development of the party.
Makinde, who stated these while chatting with journalists shortly after the meeting of the PDP’s South West Zonal Caucus meeting in Ibadan, Oyo State, emphasized unity, and urged coalition members to address issues collaboratively rather than leaving due to temporary setbacks.
He said; “You can’t abandon your house because of a leaking roof. The PDP is built on solid foundations, and like any structure, it may face wear and tear. It is the responsibility of all Party members to fix the leaks, strengthen the foundation, and keep the house standing for the people of this country”.
Makinde acknowledged the sacrifices of all Party members and leaders and reaffirmed his commitment to working together with other critical stakeholders in the Party towards the success of the PDP in future elections.
He further said; “Let us fix the roof together and keep this house strong for the future”.
