Gov Otu Appoints Nsa Gill As New Media Aide, Redeploys Ogbeche To Abuja

BY UBON EKANEM, CALABAR – Governor Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River State has approved a minor reshufflement in his media team with the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Cross River Council, Comrade Nsa Gill Effiom, taking over as the new Chief Press Secretary (CPS).

Until his new appointment as the CPS to the Governor, Comrade Gill was the Nation Newspaper Chief Correspondent in the state.

Gill is a graduate of Mass Communication from the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu, popularly known as IMT Enugu, and has practiced journalism for over two decades

A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Anthony Owan Enoh said that the Governor has also approved the appointment of Mr Linus Obogo, who will serve as his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.

This is as Governor Otu also approved the redeployment of his former Chief Press Secretary and immediate past NUJ Chairman, FCT Council, Comrade Emmanuel Ogbeche to Abuja as Special Adviser on Media.

Other appointments confirmed by the Governor are Prince Edwin Okon as Chairman of Cross River State Internal Revenue Service and Mr Abang Sylvester Otu as the State Chief of Protocol

Meanwhile, Governor Otu has also appointed Sir Maurice Effiwat as the acting Chairman of Cross River State Civil Service Commission (CRSCSC).

According to Prof Enoh, all the appointments by the governor take immediate effect.
