Gov Yahaya Replaces Lalong As Northern Govs’ Forum Chairman
The Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya, has emerged as the new Chairman of the Northern State Governors Forum (NSGF).
First elected governor in 2019, Yahaya won re-election to govern Gombe State for a second term during the March 18, 2023, gubernatorial poll.
He takes over the Forum chairmanship from outgoing governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong who completes his second tenure on May 29, 2023.
Yahaya was born on 9 October 1961 in Jekadefari, Gombe State and his father, Alhaji Yahaya Umaru, was a famous businessman. The young Yahaya attended the Central Primary School and the Government Science Secondary School in Gombe.
He then studied at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1983
