Gov Yusuf Appoints Ladidi Garko As First Female Chairman Of Kano CSC

BY SALISU IBRAHIM FAGGE – Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the appointment of Hajiya Ladidi Ibrahim Garko as the first female Chairman of the Kano State Civil Service Commission.

The Governor has also approved the appointment of Hon. Ibrahim Jibrin Fagge as Chairman, Local Government Service Commission.

The two appointees were immediate past Commissioners of Finance and Tourism respectively, but were dropped in the recent cabinet reshuffle by the Governor.

The Governor also made series of strategic appointments, which according to his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, were aimed at strengthening the administration’s delivery on good governance.

Yusuf equally approved the appointment of Hon. Ahmad Muhammad Speaker as Special Adviser on Publicity.

The appointee had served three terms as Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government and was the State Organizing Secretary of the APC.

Similarly, the Governor has appointed Engr. Ahmad as Special Adviser on Works, while Malam Sani Abdullahi Tofa a highly respected scholar, was appointed as Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties.

A retired Permanent Secretary in the Kano State Civil Service, was also a former Director General in the Kano State Shari’a Commission who served as Khadi of the Sharia Court in Kano and Abuja.

The new appointments, according to the spokesperson underscores Governor Yusuf’s commitment of assembling a competent team to drive the state’s development agenda.

The statement said that all the appointments took immediate effect as the appointees are expected to bring in their wealth of experience in their new positions.

Meanwhile, the Governor is to swear-in the new appointees as well as the seven commissioner nominees earlier screened by the Kano State House of Assembly on Monday, January 6, 2025.
