Governor Ahmed Bids Goodbye To APC

BY SEGUN ADEBAYO, ABUJA – Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State on Tuesday defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), according to a press statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications to the Kwara State Governor, Dr Muyideen Akorede.

According to the statement, “Following due consultations with the people and in response to calls by major stakeholder groups in the state, Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed today defected to the People’s Democratic Party(PDP), having realized that the All Progressive Congress (APC) can longer serve as a platform for achieving the aspirations and expectations of his people.”
Both Senate President Bukola Saraki and National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi had resigned their membership of the ruling party.”
