The Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has described his endorsement for a second term as Governor of Benue State by the Ijir Tamen I Tiv (Supreme Council of the Tiv Nation), as a historic pronouncement and unique gesture.
He specifically noted that the honour represents an overwhelming vote of confidence in his leadership, integrity, and the transformative strides already being witnessed across the state under his administration.
Governor Alia, who stated these while expressing profound gratitude to the IJIR TAMEN I TIV, ably led by the Supreme Leader of the Tiv Nation, His Royal Majesty, Orchivirigh, Prof. James Iorzua Ortese Ayatse, Tor Tiv V, noted that the endorsement coming from the apex traditional authority of the Tiv Nation, is both humbling and deeply inspiring.

Alia expressed sincere appreciation to the Ijir Tamen for identifying and acknowledging the tremendous work done so far in transforming and positioning Benue State on the path of development, peace, and prosperity.
The Governor said that he remains ever committed to his covenant with the people, viz, to rebuild, renew, and restore Benue with transparency, equity, and compassion.
In the words of Alia; “This endorsement by the Tiv Supreme Council reaffirms the unity, wisdom, and foresight of our revered traditional institution.
“It is also a testament to the collective resolve of the Tiv people and indeed all Benue citizens to consolidate on the progress we are making and to ensure continuity of good governance”.

The Governor assured the Tor Tiv and the entire Ijir Tamen I Tiv, that the honour will only strengthen his dedication to serve with even greater zeal, humility, and accountability.
Alia reiterated his pledge to continue promoting inclusivity, fairness, and sustainable development for every community across Benue State.
He further said; “The Government once again expresses heartfelt appreciation to the Ijir Tamen I Tiv, the six ruling houses of, Kwande, Jemgbagh, Lobi, Jechira, Gwer and Sankera, and the entire Tiv Nation for this show of love, trust and solidarity.
“Together, as the Almighty God continues to reign, we will forge ahead to make Benue a land of peace, progress, and shared prosperity,” he assured.
