Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State who was suspended on Tuesday following a State of Emergency declared by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has vacated Government House, Port Harcourt.
Fubara vacating the palatial Government House, it was gathered was to pave way for the expected arrival of the newly appointed sole administrator, Vice Admiral Ekwe Ibas (retd).
This was as it was gathered that there had been a complete change of security guard at the Rivers State Government House with Fubara’s security details replaced.
A source close to the Government House, Port Harcourt confided in Forefront News that Governor Fubara departed Government House on Wednesday morning even when the new sole administrator was yet to resume.
The source further said; “We are expecting the sole Admin any moment from now. The security details in Government House have been reshuffled. Everywhere is calm, and nothing is happening as we speak now”.
Meanwhile, the situation in Port Harcourt in spite of the State of Emergency, looks normal as people go about their daily activities without disruption just as there have been no reported incidence of unrest or any breakdown of law and order in the State capital.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday, declared a State of Emergency in Rivers State citing ongoing pipeline vandalism and the inability of Governor Fubara to address the explosion.
