Gunmen Abduct 2 Women In Lokoja
Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly abducted two women at gunpoint in phase 11, the Lokogoma Estate area of Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.
Reports indicated that one of the abducted women identified as Mrs Afolabi Toyin, the Chief Executive Officier (CEO) of Testayo Supermarket which deals in children’s materials in the phase 11 area of Lokoja while the second is Mrs Taiwo Hannah Orebiyi, said to be the wife of the Chairman, Kogi Tourism Board.
According to a competent source, the criminal elements trailed the Supermarket owner to her house in the Lokogoma Phase 11 Estate, picked and forcefully took her away to an unknown destination.
On the other hand, the wife of the Chairman, Kogi State Tourism Board, was reportedly kidnapped along with the Supermarket owner for raising an alarm over their action as she was passing by during the operation.
An eyewitness, who craved anonymity, for fear of being identified by possible informants, said; “Mrs Orebiyi incurred the wrath of the hoodlums when she raised an alarm over the incident at the supermarket. Suddenly, some of the hoodlums swooped on her, forced her into their car, and zoomed off with no help in sight”.
As of the time of filing this report, there was no official statement or confirmation of the incident from the State Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Williams Aya.
