BY ONYEKACHUKWU IBEZIM – Unknown gunmen have abducted Archbishop Uka Uka Osim of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS), his wife, Anne Osim and son, Roland Uka Osim.

Reports indicated that the Osims’ family and three other BCS’ clerics were abducted in Abia State on May 1, 2024.

The BCS Administrator in Abia State, Bishop Denis Onuoha, who confirmed the unfortunate incident, said the team members were travelling to Awka, the Anambra State capital, on evangelical mission when the armed men struck.

He listed the three other priests also abducted as Azuka Ochu, Moses Okafor and Anderson Akwazie.

According to Bishop Onuoha, the organisation and family members of the victims have been in the dark for four days as the abductors are yet to make contact with anyone on what they actually want.

“We are very worried but we are assured that the Almighty Father who they worship and work for with total devotion will help them out”, he said.

The BCS Administrator, who appealed to security agencies to make efforts at rescuing the clergymen, said they are deep in prayers believing that the Archbishop and his brethren will be rescued unhurt.

Meanwhile, a top member of the organization, whose world headquarters is in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, told Forefront News that there has been no official reaction or confirmation of the incident from Police Commands in both Abia and Anambra States.

The official, who did not want his name in print for obvious reasons, however said the BCS is unrelenting in its efforts to ensure the kidnapped victims are released unhurt, expressing hope that the Police and other security agencies would do the needful.
