Gunmen Abduct Students, Lecturers From Bamali Polytechnic, Zaria

Dare devil gunmen on Thursday night, attacked the Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic, Zaria in Kaduna State and abducted several students, lecturers and members of their families.

Information pieced together indicate that the gunmen invaded the school located on the Kaduna-Zaria highway and in the process, shot one of the students, who later died from gunshots wound.

The number of the students and lecturers that were believed to have been abducted by the gunmen were still unknown as at the time of filing this report.

However, an official of Kaduna Sate Vigilance Service who preferred his name not to be on print, said that some students of the institution were also seriously injured, adding that the incident took place on Thursday night between 10.30pm and 11pm.

Speaking on the ugly incident, the spokesman of the polytechnic, Mr Abdullahi  Shehu while confirming the abduction, said that the management of the institution is trying to ascertain the exact number of students, lecturers and members of their families that were taken away by the gunmen.
