Gunmen Kill Five, Injured Many, Burnt Houses In Southern Kaduna

BY AMOS TAUNA, KADUNA – Five persons have been confirmed killed during an attack by unidentified gunmen at Zangan village in Attakar Chiefdom of Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna state.

It was also gathered that many people were confirmed injured with several houses burnt during the attack.

Interim Management Committee Chairman of the Council, Dr. Bege Katuka, who confirmed the ugly incident on Friday, said the attackers invaded the community around 4:00pm on Thursday and started shooting sporadically at the armless villagers.

According to him; “Five persons were killed with many injured while two people are still missing.

“A number of houses including, the newly constructed Police Outpost were burnt and vandalised.

“We have appealed to the people to remain calm and have confidence in the security personnel that have already secured the area while investigation is ongoing.”

Zangan village where the unfortunate incident occurred, shares bothers with Ryom Local Government Area of Plateau state.

Efforts to get further confirmation from the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Yakubu Sabo did not yield results as he did not response to calls and SMS.
