BY RAHILA ABDULLAHI, KADUNA – Driven by a clear vision to support the activities of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in Kaduna State, Hawlaab Media Training and Research Centre (HMTRC) – a public relations and media consultancy firm, has stressed the need for a stronger collaboration with some NGOs in the state for effective media coverage and visibility of their activities.
The collaboration, according to HMTRC, is to address the under reportage of the NGOs activities in the state.
Chief Executive Officer of HMTRC, Abdulwaheed Olayinka Adubi, who stated these while receiving the ACOMIN’s officials at the Corporate Head Office of the organization in Kaduna on Friday during an advocacy visit, noted that the activities of the NGOs are under reported in the state, thus the need for a stronger collaboration.
Adubi advised that the activities of the NGOs should be anchored on media collaborations for proper reportage, while emphasizing institutional synergy, as a panacea for greater exposure.
In the words of Adubi; “A strong collaborative effort between our organization; the HMTRC and the NGOs would not only build a good working relationship, but would also elevate the NGOs brand values and build their reputations.
“As a Public Relations and Media Consultancy Firm, we have the expertise to showcase your activities to the world. Part of our mandates is to manage reputations of organizations, individuals, groups, agencies and NGOs like yours, and to ensure effective communication on their activities,” he explained.
Adubi therefore urged the NGOs to continually review, refine, and redesign their activities when necessary to ensure greater impact and sustainability.
He also advised them to rebrand their status by redesigning their interventions, especially in critical sectors to ensure greater impact and sustainability.
Adubi noted that many interventions and activities of the NGOs in the state are already yielding positive results, and encouraged them to do more.
Speaking on behalf of the Civil Society Organizations on Malaria, Immunization and Nutrition (ACOMIN), Kaduna state, Diji Obadiah Haruna said the media plays a vital role in the life of every NGO, hence the need to create room for proper understanding and trust for the sustainability of the partnership.
Haruna who is the state Chairman of ACOMIN, appreciated the foresight and vision of HMTRC, as it sets to amplify the activities of the NGOs in the state, adding that the partnership would go a long way to create a system that is sustainable.
