A video footage captured by a closed-circuit-television (CCTV), has exposed how the suspended National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Anyanwu, allegedly led one Emmanuel Okoronkwo accompanied by others to the Wadata Plaza, housing the headquarters of the Party and forcefully broke-into offices.
One of the key offices they broke into was of the National Chairman of the Party, Ambassador Umar Damagum and some documents allegedly tempered.
The damning development has sent shockwaves through Nigeria’s political landscape as the CCTV footage which was obtained by Forefront News, clearly showed how the embattled Senator Samuel Anyanwu and his known head of thugs, Emmanuel Okoronkwo, orchestrated a brazen break-in at the Wadata Plaza housing the party’s National Secretariat.
The graphic video shows Anyanwu – dressed in a signature white caftan – and Okoronkwo, clad in a grey jacket with a face cap pulled low, alongside a gang of hooded hoodlums, forced entry into key administrative offices during the invasion.
The footage which was independently verified by some PDP loyalists and shared widely on social media under #WadataInvasion, captured the Anyanwu-led group smashed door locks and also broke some of the doors at the PDP’s National Secretariat.
It was gathered that the brazen intrusion was aimed at disrupting preparations for the scheduled National convention of the PDP slated for Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Information pieced together by Forefront News, indicated that that the Anyanwu-led group known to be loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike are desirous of ensuring that the PDP remains in a state of chaos and unable to hold its National Convention in order to derail the party’s activities and unity drive.
