How DSS Arrested Top IPOB Commander – Source

Following a combination of intelligence gathering and monitoring of the activities of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the Department of State Security Services has successfully arrested one of the most notorious commander of the outlawed group.

The arrested Commander of IPOB who was picked up in Ebonyi State by the DSS was found with about 600 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition in addition to other dangerous weapons.

Forefront News gathered authoritatively that a combined team of the DSS and the military arrested the top commander on Monday, September 9, 2024.

It was gathered that investigations have so far revealed that the arrested top commander was involved in the coordination of IPOB activities in Ebonyi State and was one of the main commanders involved in the recruitment of several mercenaries.

A dependable security source confided in Forefront News that the name of the arrested top commander of IPOB is still being kept secret as a result of further intelligence being gathered that may most likely lead to further arrest and decimation of other top members of the proscribed group.

The source said; “I can tell you for sure that the IPoB commander who is known to be very notorious and have been seen on viral videos many times has been arrested based on credible information gathering. He was already recruiting mercenaries ahead of a major attack in Ebonyi State and other South-east geo-political region.
