Hunters Intercept Boko Haram Cattle Rustlers in Biu, Borno State
BY VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – Following recent security challenges posed by Boko Haram terrorists in cattle rustling to raise funds for their criminal activities, hunters from Gur village in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State in conjunction with hunters from Damaturu last week Thursday, November 23, 2017, intercepted suspected Boko Haram terrorists’ cattle rustlers east of Burashika village.
A statement by the Director of Public Relations, Nigeria Army, Brigadier General Sani Usman said during the encounter that lasted several hours, the hunters killed one Boko Haram terrorist, recovered an AK-47 rifle mounted with magazine of 2 rounds and 48 cows, 58 goats, 36 sheeps and 12 donkeys.
Usman said all the recovered livestock have been handed over to the security operatives in Gur village pending identification by the rightful owners and handover.
