BY EDMOND ODOK, ABUJA – National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu says his Sunday morning visit to the Presidential Villa, Abuja, was to specifically thank President Muhammadu Buhari for visiting him in London after his surgery.

The former Lagos State governor however told State House correspondents that any other discussion with the President was private and not a matter for public consumption.

Responding to questions after the meeting, Tinubu said his mission was to appreciate the President for the London visit, noting that it was a mark of exceptional leadership.

“It’s only to thank the President, first of all, for his visit to my residence in London after the surgery and wishing me well, lifting my spirit and indeed, what an exceptional leader will do to collaborate.

“So, that’s what I came for and to welcome him back from the trip from Saudi. No politics, just a courtesy call to thank him in a big way. That’s all.”

Asked about the President’s response, the APC chieftain said President Buhari was happy to see him around and declined further comments, saying he was not obliged to speak on other things they discussed as leaders.
