BY AHMED TUKUR LAFIA – A serial rapist, Ahmadu Yaro, arrested for raping a three months old baby in Adogi area of Lafia, Nasarawa State, has confessed to defiling four other babies before now.
Yaro, who made the confession when he was paraded at the State headquarters of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said he is engaged in the sale of oranges in Lafia.
The serial rapist however pleaded for forgiveness, claiming that he is mentally deranged adding that the acts he committed were the handiwork of the devil.
The Deputy Commandant of the NSCDC in Nasarawa State, Bisi Ologboyega urged Nigerians to be vigilant of the type of people around their neighbourhood and to expose rapist to security agencies to serve as deterrent to others.
Ologboyega noted that the action of rapist not only destroyed the lives of the victims, but also affects the community
He said the suspect not only confessed to raping a three months old baby but also revealed and accepted to have raped five other victims in the village before the latest victim, who is a three months old – Rukaiiya Aliyu.
The NSCDC boss said that investigation indicate that the serial rapist operated as a one man gang that carefully studies his environment before carrying out his evil act.
The serial rapist, Ahmadu Yaro, who was arrested on June 20, 2020 at about 0328 hours is still in the custody of the NSCDC assisting in further investigation.
