Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has debunked allegations of his singing praises of former governor of Lagos State and presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Obasanjo’s rebuttal which was contained in a statement by his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi followed a viral WhatsApp message by a group, ‘National Patriots’ which alleged that the former president Tinubu as a super politician.
The WhatsApp quoted Obasanjo as having said; “If you are looking for a thorough bred politician of masters class, visit Lagos Bourdillon”.
But, Obasanjo specifically said that there was no way he could have made any remark at the expense of his noble military profession, stressing that based on his experience, only military-trained personnel were good managers of people.
In the words of Obasanjo; “I cannot disparage my noble profession for politics that has no formal training. This is false and fake. I never called Tinubu super politician”.
He further added that only individuals trained by the armed forces had the capability to properly manage men and materials.
