I Was Not Involved In Auto Crash – Vice President Osinbajo Says

The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo was not in any way involved in a road accident on his way to Abuja Airport en route Owo in Ondo State on Monday.

In separate statements, the Vice President’s media handlers, Laolu Akande and Chairman of the Professor Yemi Osinbajo Media Council, Richard Akinnola noted reports that Osinbajo’s vehicle somersaulted on the Airport Road, Abuja, on Monday morning.

The two statements while debunking the FAKE story, stressed that the Vice President only stopped on his way to the Airport to assist accident victims.

Similarly, Vice President Osinbajo on Monday denounced the rumour that he was involved in an accident in Abuja on Monday.

Osinbajo explained in his verified Facebook page that while on his way to Owo, Ondo state, the scene of the tragic attack on St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where over 50 worshippers were killed by some gunmen when news filtered in that his convoy was involved in an accident.

Osinbajo said; “Thank you all for the calls and concern, I was not involved in an accident. On my way to the airport to travel to Ondo, we ran into an accident scene.

“My security and medical teams assisted in removing the victims of the crash from the scene They have been transported to the Airforce Base hospital,” he said.

Prof. Osinbajo later departed for Ondo State and visited the affected Church and Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
