Ibadan Poly Female Student Hacked To Death, Eyes Plucked Out
Tragedy struck at the Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic in Eruwa, Oyo State on Thursday as the lifeless body of a female Mass Communication student was found in her room with multiple matchet cuts and her eyes plucked out.
Simply identified as Dasola, a National Diploma (ND) 2 student, the deceased was among those currently writing the ongoing first-semester examination in the institution.
With the Polytechnic and its environs suddenly thrown into mourning mood, the circumstances leading to her murder were still unknown as of the time of filing this report,
According to reports, late Dasola’s friend and coursemate, after noticing her unavailability for the examination on Thursday, went to her house, around the Ile Idibo area and found her door locked from outside suggesting that no one was inside the room.
However, wondering what could have happened, some of Dasola’s neighbours were reported to have perceived an offensive rancid odour and decided to look around, and peeping through the window, found her body lying lifeless in the room.
The shocking discovery reportedly saw the people raise an alarm that attracted attention from those around who immediately gathered and decided that the unfortunate incident be reported to the police.
Sources also confirmed that with the School’s authorities alerted about the incident, they ongoing examination was hurriedly suspended for 24 hours in honour of the late student.
It was also gathered that having been duly informed, the Eruwa Police Division was said to be making arrangements to evacuate the corpse from the room and deposited same at the General Hospital, Eruwa.
Competent sources further hinted that the Police are expected to commence an investigation to fish out the perpetrators of the crime and bring them to book.
