BY VICTOR OSOWOCHI – The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Usman Baba on Tuesday approved the posting and deployment of 24 Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) to Zonal Commands and formations across the country.
Among those affected include the former Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police (CP), Bala Ciroma, recently promoted to AIG, who has been moved to Zone-7 headquarters Abuja; AIG Usman Belel to FCID Annex Lagos; AIG John Amadi moved to Maritime; and AIG Adeleke Adeyinka posted to Zone 9 Headquarters in Umuahia.
Others on the movement list are AIG Zaki Ahmed, AIG Special Protection Unit, Abuja, AIG Mustapha Dandaura, AIG Zone 4 Makurdi, AIG Dansuki Galadanchi, AIG Counter Terrorist Unit FHQ, AIG Okon Etim Ene, AIG Zone 17 Akure.

A statement by the Force Spokesman, Police Commissioner Frank Mba quoted IGP Bala as promising that the Senior Police Officers’ posting and redeployment will further assist in driving the new policing vision in the country.
He said among other things, the vision is targeted at improving policing services across the country and effectively responding to security threats nationwide.
The statement further explained that the posting and the redeployment of Officers are with immediate effect.
Also on Tuesday, IGP Alkali Baba decorated 36 newly promoted Commissioners of Police assisted by the Chairman, Senate Committee in Police, Senator Haliru Jika; Minister of State for Power, Mr Jedy Agba; and the Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) of Police.
