Imo state government has denied media reports that Chioma Uzodinma, wife of the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, was abducted early on Monday morning, October 4, 2021.

The Government, through the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Declan Emelumba, described as ‘wicked’ the rumoured kidnapped of the Governor’s wife.

Speculations hit the media space early on Monday that Mrs Uzodinma was abducted following the high rate of insecurity and criminality, including barbaric killings and kidnappings in the state in the last couple of months.

However, the Commissioner, while reacting to the report, said enemies of the state are those spreading the rumours, adding; “There is no truth in that. Those who are behind the rumours are wicked and are devil’s agents. They are the ones wishing the state bad.”, the Commissioner said

According to him, purveyors of the rumours do not wish the state well but they will not succeed in their evil plans.
