Following receipt of intelligence security report, the Lokoja Local Government Council Administration has announced the immediate but temporary closure of worship centres of all faith outside the State capital, Lokoja.
A statement by Hon Abdullahi Adamu, the Chairman of the Local Government Council, explained that the measure became necessary as a result of the intelligence report indicating potential threats to public safety in places of worship outside the metropolis.

According to Adamu; “In light of this, I hereby direct the temporary closure of all worship centers of all faith outside the metropolis, effective immediately.
“This precautionary measure aims to protect congregants especially in the suburban isolated areas and mountains.
“This measure is to ensure the safety and security of citizens,” he said.
The LG Chairman urged the citizens to cooperate and remain vigilant until further notice.
