In what appeared a retaliatory move, Iran on Monday attacked United States forces in Qatar as it launched missiles launched at an Iraq base housing American troops
Iran later announced that it attacked American forces stationed at Qatar’s Al Udeid air base.
The announcement was made on state television as martial music played, with a caption on the screen calling it “a mighty and successful response by the armed forces of Iran to America’s aggression.”
The attack came in spite of Qatar’s closure of its airspace as a precaution amid threats from Iran.
