Jangebe Abducted Female Students Not Yet Released – Zamfara Govt.

BY SEGUN ADEBAYO, ABUJA – The Zamfara State Government on Sunday said that contrary to some online media reports which claimed that the abducted female students of Government Girls Science Secondary School, Jangebe have been released or rescued is far from the situation on ground.

The State Government said that the reports emanated from unsubstantiated sources and the flimsy imagination of a reporter from the Punch newspaper in the state, who initiated the rumour.

These were contained in a statement by the Press Secretary in the office of the Governor of Zamfara Sate, Jamilu Iliyasu B/Magaji, who said that Governor Bello Mohammed Matawallen and his aides have since Friday when the girls were abducted by gunmen not rested.

Iliyasu said that the governor and his aides have been working round the clock and making frantic efforts that will lead to the safe release of the victims.

The statement said that the state government is not happy that someone who does not know the details of the situation is trying to further hurt the victims’ parents, government and the security by ridiculing the effort with falsehood.

Iliyasu said the state government will immediately and happily inform the world as soon as the girls are released.
