Jigawa: NSCDC Rescues 25 Years Old Lady Detained In A Room For Five Years By Dad
After spending agonizing five solid years in a locked up room by her father, officers and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command have rescued a 25 year old lady (name withheld) from further detention and dehumanizing conditions.
Her freedom from the captivity of her father followed a bold move by a 50year old Safiya Mustapha, who raised the alarm that eventually led to her rescue of the poor lady that had been in captivity when she clocked 20years.
Mrs. Safiya Mustapha, who moved for the rescue of tnhe lady lives some few distance from the residence of the father of the detained lady.
It was also gathered that a human rights activist, Mr. Musbahu Basirka was also part of the first respondents to the distress call raised for the rescue of the victim.
Speaking on the unfortunate development and the eventiula rescue of the victim, the Public Relations Officer, of the NSCDC, Jigawa Command, Adamu Shehu said that the father of the detained had her trapped in a waking nightmare that was difficult to believe.
According to Shehu; “For half a decade, the woman was trapped in a waking nightmare by her father, Garba Musa, who is a 67year old man.
“Garba Musa usually kept his daughter locked up in a room that served as her bedroom, restroom, and dining area,” he said.
Following the rescue of the lady from the barbaric custody of her father, the NSCDC quickly arrested the Garba Musa and his wife, who is the stepmother of the victim.
The two suspects, presently in the custody of the NSCDC are believed to be cooperating with investigation while the victim was taken to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention.
