Kaduna Councilor Confessed To Transporting AK 47 To Bandits – Police

A serving Councillor with Giwa Local Government Council of Kaduna State, Abdulrahman Adamu has confessed to have received an AK 47 riffle from an accomplice for onward delivery to bandits operating around Galadimawa village.

This was contained in a statement on Friday, May 13, 2022, by Police Public Relations Officer for the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Mohammed Jalige, who equally confirmed the arrest of the Councilor with an AK 47 rifle.
According to ASP Jalige; “The suspect equally confessed to have gotten the firearm from his accomplices and he is to deliver same to bandits around Galadimawa village for their nefarious activities”.
The spokesman of the Kaduna Police Command said that the Commissioner of Police (CP), Yekini A Ayoku was miffed by the involvement of a supposed stakeholder in aiding banditry just as he commended the diligent and thoroughness exhibited by the officers of the Command.

The police boss therefore directed for a full scale investigation to be carried out to ensure that all those connected with the said crime are apprehended to face justice.
The police spokesman further said that its operatives attached to ‘Operation Puff Adder II’ while acting on the instruction of the Commissioner of Police on May 9, 2022, at about 0800hrs conducted routine patrol along the Galadimawa road, Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
According to Jalige; “The operation which is aimed at ensuring sanity on the connecting axis succeeded in intercepting a Lifan motorcycle, black in color ridden by one Abdulrahman Adamu, who was moving towards Galidimawa community.
“The operatives became suspicious of the sack been carried on the motorcycle and were prompted to search it. In the process a concealed AK47 rifle loaded with six (6) rounds of 7.62 X 39mm live ammunition were recovered from the sack and taken into custody alongside the suspect.
“Preliminary investigation reveals the identity of the suspect, Abdulrahman Adamu as a serving member in the legislative Council of Soba Local Government Area of Kaduna State representing Kinkiba Ward,” the police said.
