Kaduna State To Try 41 Gangsters For Homicide
BY AMOS TAUNA, KADUNA – The Kaduna State Security Council has announced the arrest of 41 gangsters suspected of attacking innocent citizens with dangerous weapons in different parts of the state.
A statement by Samuel Aruwan, who is the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Nasir el-Rufai, said the suspects were arrested in different locations in Zaria and Kaduna by security operatives.
The gangsters, popularly known as ‘Yan Sara-Suka’ or ‘Yan Shara,’ Aruwan said would be prosecuted for causing deaths and injuries on innocent people.
The governor’s spokesman further said the Security Council also directed that the suspects be charged for illegal possession of weapons, disturbance of public peace, homicide and unlawful assembly.
According to Aruwan; “Those arrested from Tudun Wada, Zaria are Salisu Abubakar, Kabiru Auwal, Isyaku Ibrahim, Salisu Musa, Shamsudeen Ahmed, Mohammed Ibrahim and Ali Tukur.
“Those arrested from Kabala Doki Area, Kaduna include; Aliyu Auwal, Abba Yusuf, Sadiq Balarabe, Sharif Abdullahi, Mustapha Aliyu, Bashir Ibrahim, Najib Yusuf and Daddy Yusuf.
“Those arrested from Kawo Area, Kaduna include Ahmed Abdurasak, Ibrahim Hassan, Abdulsalam Mohammed, Umurana Shuaibu, Mohammed Ibrahim, Hamisu Umar, Sadiq Ismail, Gadafi Yusuf and Hassan Shuaibu.
“Others include Zailani Magaji, Jibril Idris, Mansur Sani, Ismail Dahiru, Mukailu Yusuf, Sani Nasiru,
Aminu Sanusi, Rabiu Musa, Umar Tanimu, Ibrahim Idris, Mohammed Abdurahaman, Mohammed Abdullahi and Shabale Adamu.”
Aruwan also said that the Security Council named three persons who would be charged and prosecuted for acts related to terrorism and possession of dangerous weapons. They are Haruna Usman, Badiya Garba, Saleem Shuaibu and Ashiru Abdullahi.
