The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal (GEPT) in Kebbi State has upheld the emergence of Governor Nasir Idris as the duly elected governor of the State.
The Tribunal, chaired by Justice Ofem I. Ofem, delivered the judgment on Thursday, by upholding the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s declaration of Idris, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, as the winner of the March 18 gubernatorial election in the State.
However, not satisfied with the INEC’s declaration of the outcome, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer, General Aminu Bande (rtd) approached the Tribunal to file a 722-page petition challenging Governor Idris’ victory at the March 18 poll.
