BY SEGUN ADEBAYO – The Independent Campaign Council (ICC) of the Ododo/Joel Campaign Organisation has congratulated the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and Mr Joel Oyibo, on their emergence as the Governor-elect and Deputy Governor-elect of Kogi state in the November 11, 2023 gubernatorial poll.

In a statement signed by its Director of Media, Jacob EDI, the ICC described Ododo’s victory as “authoritative” given the massive votes secured to beat his opponents in the keenly contested election.

The ICC’s statement tagged “THE STORM IS OVER” urged the flag bearers of other political other parties to join hands with the Governor-elect in building the state for more progress and development, stressing that the interest of the State supersedes any sectional or individual interest.

Similarly, the Campaign organisation praised Governor Yahaya Bello for his untiring efforts in bringing about a peaceful and hitch-free election against the prediction of political opponents.

The body said equally worthy of commendation are the good people of Kogi state who conducted themselves peacefully to ensure a violence-free election on Saturday.

However, the ICC tasked Governor-elect, Alhaji Ododo, to take urgent steps in uniting the people; harnessing the abundant human and material resources in the state; and rolling out his plans to develop the state and consolidate on the gains of outgoingbGovernor Bello-led administration.
