Lagos Discharges 40 Patients, Unveils 150-Bed Isolation Centre

BY CHINYERE OBIORA, LAGOS – The Lagos State government says a total of 40 patients undergoing treatment for coronavirus (COVID-19) at various isolation centres in the State were discharged on Thursday, July 2, 2020.

According to the breakdown released by the government, the discharged patients are 17 females and 23 males, including two foreign nationals.

The chart also indicated that 19 patients were discharged after full recovery and testing negative for COVID-19 from Onikan centre; Seven (7) from Gbagada; Three (3) from Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba; Eight (8) from Agidingbi; and Three (3) from LUTH Isolation Centre.

Writing on his official twitter handle, Babajide Sanwo-Olu @jidesanwoolu, the State governor, Sanwo-Olu said; “Today, we unveiled a 150-bed isolation centre at the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba which increases our capacity to tackle the spread of #COVID19.

“We thank the Private Sector Coalition Against COVID19 @cacovidng for delivering this well equipped facility.”
